CityDoctor2: A system for the automated repair of city models

Overview#

The use of 3D city models in simulations and spatial analyses has gained interest in recent years. However, practice has shown that geometric city models often contain errors that distort the simulation results. Correcting errors usually involves a great deal of manual effort. The CityDoctor 2 project was launched to reduce or even completely eliminate this effort.

Research Question#

What is required is the development of a coupled analysis and repair process for 3D city models with appropriate tools. In this way, a generally usable basic model in CityGML format with verified properties and a high degree of automation can be generated from an existing model, taking into account various application scenarios.

CityDoctor2 is released under the LGPL as FOSS.
